Newsletter — Summer 2026

A message from our Chair

Welcome to our Summer 2026 newsletter. It has been a wonderful few months for the Halesworth Dementia Carers’ Fund, and we have some exciting news to share, from a hugely successful fundraising event, to a brand-new community project that we are proud to be part of, and some important news about expanded Day Centre provision for our clients.

⛳  Golf Day — Over £5,500 Raised!

We are absolutely thrilled to report that our recent charity golf day was a tremendous success, raising over £5,500 for the Fund. This is an extraordinary result and a testament to the generosity of everyone who took part, sponsored a hole, donated prizes, or helped to organise and run the event on the day. Huge thanks to everyone at Halesworth Golf Club and our main sponsor, Suffolk Car Centre for your continued support.

Every penny raised will go directly towards supporting people living with memory problems and the family carers who look after them in Halesworth and the surrounding area. We are enormously grateful to all of our supporters, and look forward to making this an annual fixture in the Halesworth community calendar.

‘A wonderful day and a wonderful cause — we’ll definitely be back next year!’

🙋  Introducing Hands Up for Halesworth

We are delighted to be part of an exciting new community initiative: Hands Up for Halesworth. This project has been created to make it as easy as possible for local people to discover the many voluntary organisations in Halesworth and the surrounding towns and villages and to find out how they can get involved.

The project has already mapped many local volunteer groups, covering a huge range of causes and activities. If you have a few hours to spare and would like to give something back to your community, visit www.handsupforhalesworth.co.uk to see what’s available and how you can help.

HDCF is proud to be listed on the platform. Volunteering with us is a rewarding and meaningful way to support people affected by dementia in our community. Whether you can offer a few hours a week or a little more, we would love to hear from you.
